Well what a week that was! From going from the Scottish Highlands on holiday where there were no people, to 80,000 at Download!!! This was my first time volunteering, usually being a Download ticket holder, and my husband came for the first time at all. We are 49 & 50 so weren’t too sure what to expect to be honest, but from the day one briefing we met a like minded person about the same age and that was it! We didn’t camp as we only live 20 minutes away and have pets to feed, and think this may have stopped us getting to know more people than if we had camped, however everyone we saw did say hi which was nice!
The role itself was fun and we met some great festival goers who we saw over and over again by working on the campervan site for each shift which was nice. Both supervisors, Greg and Rob were great and realised pretty quickly that we had common sense and could just get on with things. We also worked alongside another married couple of a similar age which was really great and we will be staying in touch with them.
All being well we'll see you again next year!!
